Description
These homemade peanut butter eggs are rich, creamy, and coated in a smooth chocolate shell. They’re the perfect no-bake treat for Easter or any time you’re craving that peanut butter-chocolate combo!
Ingredients
-
- 1 ½ cups of peanut butter (smooth or crunchy, your choice!)
-
- 4 cups of powdered sugar
-
- 1 ½ cups of graham cracker crumbs (optional, but they add a nice texture)
-
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
-
- 1 ½ cups of milk chocolate chips
-
- 1 tablespoon of coconut oil (for melting the chocolate)
Instructions
Mix the Peanut Butter Filling: In a large mixing bowl, combine the peanut butter, powdered sugar, graham cracker crumbs (if using), and vanilla extract. Stir until the mixture is smooth and dough-like. You should be able to roll it into a ball without it sticking too much.
Shape the Eggs: Roll the peanut butter mixture into egg shapes. You can make them as big or small as you like, but remember they should fit easily in your hand. Once you have the egg shapes, place them on a parchment-lined tray.
Chill the Eggs: Place the shaped eggs in the fridge for about 30 minutes. This will help firm them up and make the next step easier.
Melt the Chocolate: While the eggs are chilling, melt the chocolate chips with coconut oil in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth.
Dip the Eggs in Chocolate: Carefully dip each chilled peanut butter egg into the melted chocolate, making sure it’s fully coated. You can use a fork to help with dipping and removing the eggs from the chocolate. Place the coated eggs back on the parchment-lined tray.
Chill Again: Refrigerate the chocolate-coated eggs for at least 1 hour, or until the chocolate is set.
Enjoy: Once the eggs are firm and the chocolate is completely set, it’s time to indulge in your homemade peanut butter eggs!
Notes
🥜 Crunchy Twist: Add crushed peanuts for extra texture.
🍫 Chocolate Choices: Use dark chocolate for a richer flavor or white chocolate for a fun variation!
🌟 Decorate: Drizzle with white chocolate or sprinkle sea salt on top for a gourmet touch.
